Leather Goods

• Remove excess mud and allow to dry naturally.
• Suede and Nubuck should have the nap restored with a soft brush if necessary.
• Leathers can be polished with a little neutral cream following the manufacturers recommendations.

Hunting Horns

Copper is sensitive to air, and oxidizes (tarnishes) faster in moist air. Coating with lacquer, if not being used for food purposes, helps preserve the finish.

Tarnished Copper: Polish with a commercial polish for copper following directions on the container. Polish can be made at home by moistening salt with vinegar or lemon juice to make a paste for a bright finish. After polishing decorative items, spray with lacquer to preserve colour if desired.

"Bronze Disease" also attacks copper. Use hot vinegar and salt, or lemon juice and salt, copper cleaner, or buttermilk to remove these patches of corrosion. After treating, wash promptly with soap and water, rinse and dry.

Walking Stick Handles

Buffalo Horn - When given a high polish develops an extremely hard surface and has to be one of the toughest natural materials. Rugged yet elegant, buffalo horn is black in colour and is made up of dense layers of fibres that have a very hard and durable surface. Polished to a glossy finish, they add a distinctive touch to any handle.

Light grade wire wool can be used on the handle and then polished using T-cut and Brasso by hand or with the aid of high-speed revolution mops and polishing compounds. It's quite simple- You can use something readily available.
